“Mary Mary Mary! So excited- Lucy has jumped up 2 levels in maths! She is beaming! Thanks so much for all of your support!”
“I wanted to say a huge thank you! Learning Support’s method of selecting a tutor who they think will gel best with the individual student has been an amazing experience for Lachie. He absolutely loves Annette, her way of teaching (“she makes it so much fun Mum” in his words) her warm environment and being able to be around her dog whilst learning (his request). This has all led to a boy who hated maths, being excited on the morning of his tutoring day that he is going to Annette’s.So thank you so much. It is all going really well and we really appreciate your help. Annette is amazing!”
Classroom teaching in a primary school is one of the best jobs there is. But it does present a few challenges, no matter how skilled a teacher happens to be. Kim Register from Learning Support has provided us with realistic guidance and advice about how best cater for the learning needs of children with Specific Learning Difficulties (e.g. dyslexia), in the classroom. Her suggestions are practical and realistic. I definitely recommend her.
The Learning Support team of tutors are highly passionate about supporting children who have specific learning needs. I am confident when referring parents to Learning Support that these parents will be well listened to and their children will have an individual programme that is carefully considered and a detailed plan put in place.
One of the things that stands out the most for me is how well Learning support tutors support the students sense of well being. Not only do they have a good understanding of skills and strategies that best fit a specific learning need, they also nurture these students and encourage a determined and positive ‘can do approach’.
team of tutors communicate well with classroom teachers/sencos to ensure we are all on the same page with regards to goals and strategies that individual students are working on. For a student to progress, this collaborative team approach is key to a student being successful in their learning journey.

“Well thank you is never enough when it comes to what you have done for William over all these years. The energy and effort you have given so generously has made the world of difference to William. We are well aware that William would be in a very different position, in more aspects than just school work, if he had not had so much input from you.”
“I wanted to send you some things that I’ve been working on in English over the last two terms. I have a collection of poems and a short story which we then had to learn and share in front of the class. Thank you so much for working with me over the last few years I couldn’t have achieved anything I’m doing now without your help. I also have some math assignment results coming that I should be receiving soon which I will send on to you when I find out! I’m really enjoying QMC, I love being able to use my laptop all the time it makes things 100 times easier! I hope everything at learning support is going great and your students are having as much fun as I did when coming to see you both!”
“Our nine year old daughter has been attending Learning Support for over a year now and it has made such a huge difference to her learning experience. The dedicated, enthusiastic and caring staff have built up her self esteem, made her feel more positive about her learning and this has carried through to her classroom environment. Through the programme she has learnt sound work habits, reads confidently and is developing the tools to overcome obstacles. We are very grateful.”

“We are both very pleased with Sarah’s progress and we have noted the increased confidence with which she goes about her work. Her spelling has improved greatly and we often notice her use of words in essays has widened considerably. Learning Support has been just the ticket for Sarah, thanks very much.”
“We have been involved with this program for over 18 months and have found the benefits for Anna to be outstanding. Anna has not only progressed but has also enjoyed the whole learning process. Learning Support has an amazing ability to relate to children bringing out the absolute best in them.”

“It is fantastic to see that only after a short time working with his Learning Support tutor, my son Brodie is putting his ideas on paper with all the enthusiasm of someone who hasn’t just been diagnosed with dyslexia. The positive attitude that he is now developing for the written word is just amazing. With the help Rachel has given him he now manages to spell many of the descriptive words he wants to put into his stories. I have seen such a change in him and his attitude to school work in such a short space of time that I now feel for Brodie and the English language, the sky is the limit. Brodie now knows what I have always known, that he is very smart. Through his tuition sessions he has learnt how to deal with words and word sounds he doesn’t understand, to put into practise ways to work word sounds out and how to remember what he needs to do next time he faces similar word structures. Working in a fantastic positive environment is a big plus, and the weekly goals set are achievable.I am now starting to see the light of understanding in Brodie’s eyes that was lacking in the past. His enthusiasm for now wanting to put his words on paper and even better and wanting to share his very descriptive stories with his friends and his family is just mind blowing for me. To many this may not seem such a big deal ,but for a boy who really struggled to write even 5 sentences in his school book, the turnaround has been life changing for him. All I can say is thank you Learning Support, for giving Brodie the confidence to develop his over active imagination and his fantastic story telling abilities and for making him realise he is a very smart boy.”
“The change in Macey”s world is huge. I cannot begin to thank Learning Support enough. Macey was a girl who wouldn’t talk in class, wouldn’t volunteer information, and just didn’t really GET things when shown. Since having tuition with Learning Support Macey has grown into a confident child, who has excelled in literacy and maths, coming first in many maths challenges. Her writing has been chosen to represent her class in competitions and she has gone through to the second stage in her speech writing competition. Learning Support has given Macey the tools to understand her learning style and the confidence to give things a go. Her world has opened up in so many ways and she has the knowledge that if she doesn’t understand then its really ok to ask for help. Thanks so much for all your help with Macey, she has blossomed into a bright bubbly girl.”
Many thanks, Brenda
“My daughter, aged 9, was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia last year. We struggled to find the right support at first, and then we found Learning Support! This is my email after our first session: ‘Thank you so much for today. By meeting you my daughter has finally found a person who truly understands how things are for her at school. She loved today and said as we were walking up your driveway that she really wants to come back every week.’ From that time her tutor has been unreservedly upbeat with my daughter and offers an individual, structured approach to helping her work with her dyslexia. She has been taught skills that will enable her to be an independent learner in the future. My daughter feels less desperate and more positive about herself as a result of the time she spends wither tutor. I highly recommend Learning Support “ they are brilliant!”
“Our son has been doing the programme for the past year. In that time he has made great leaps in his academic work, and has become a much happier, less stressed, and more confident child. He is now making good use of the strategies he has learned from the programme to date. His school teacher is also very impressed with his progress. Even after a year he looks forward to going to his weekly tuition class. We highly recommend the programme to those it is appropriate for.”
